Abstract
A survey was made of the potential market for continuing planning education in Mississippi by surveying the three most obvious groups of planners. The survey population included professional planners, planning commission chairmen and elected public officials. Data received from this survey was utilized to identify subject areas, location preferences and probable expenditures. Planning schools in the South were identified and their extension services determined in the area of continuing planning education. Out of this a program for continuing planning education in Mississippi was formulated that could be provided by the University of Mississippi. A planning conference was held in 1974 and a specific course was designed for professional planners. Continuing education programs in allied professions were evaluated to assist in planning the education proposals.
