Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the rates of student transfers among the academic areas of study within Tarleton State College and to analyze specific characteristics of transferring students. The following specific objectives were developed to serve as guidelines for the implementation of the study. 1. To determine the rates of student transfers among the academic areas of study within Tarleton State College. 2. To determine the number and percentage of student transfers who have a total Scholastic Aptitude Test score greater than or less than 900. 3. To determine if more student transfers have greater quantitative SAT scores or verbal scores. 4. To determine specifically if the Business Administration Department of Tarleton State College has a higher rate of outgoing student transfers than the other areas of study in Tarleton State College. 5. To determine if the number of transferring male students is greater than the number of transferring female students. 6. To establish if there are relationships among the academic areas of study from which students transferred and the areas of study to which they transferred. ...
