Abstract
Purpose of the Research The purpose of this study was to evaluate student achievement according to two methods of audio-visual instruction. Two groups of students--an experimental group and a control group--were presented six tape-slide series covering the topics of threads and fasteners and dimensioning in engineering graphics. Procedure of the Research The experimental group of students was shown the tape-slide series, complete with multiple-choice questions inserted at intervals throughout the presentations. The students were required to respond to these multiple-choice questions on a specially designed I.B.M. answer card that served to lead the student to the correct response. The control group, on the other hand, was shown the same tape-slide presentations as the experimental group, but without the same tape-slide presentations as the experimental group, without the multiple-choice questions. ...
