dc.description.abstractHow is the academic and social development of homeschooled students who attend college impacted as a result of having been educated at home prior to college? This research describes the population of homeschooled students currently attending colleges and universities and provides evidence relating to common concerns about the academic performance and social adaptation of homeschooled students. By using a survey instrument to describe homeschooled students currently attending college and to point out correlations between homeschool background and academic, career, leadership, and personal characteristics, this study provides empirical evidence indicating that homeschooling may be beneficial to students academically and socially. This study also suggests future areas for research by highlighting particular aspects of homeschooling and demonstrating their impact on academic and personal development.en
