Abstract
An exergy analysis of carbonate solution C02 removal systems which use solution flashing shows that there is no energy saving by using a mechanical thermocompressor instead of a steam-jet ejector.
In a 1000 ShT/D ammonia plant an energy saving of approx. 27 GJ/h (GHV) of natural gas is possible by using exhaust steam from a back pressure turbine instead of L.T. shift gas as the heat supply source for a Carsol C02 removal system.
