Camera Placement Utility for Dialogue Sequences
Abstract
Cinematography is critical in communicating visual ideas. In narrative driven games, dialogue sequences have a common set of camera shots that are repeated over the sequence such as the interior, exterior, and apex shots. I propose a tool that procedurally places these shots allowing anyone with limited cinematographic knowledge to create dialogue sequences easily.
Procedural placement also reduces the need for manual placement and speeds workflow in constructing shots. In addition, the tool also allows the user to define their own shots to be procedurally placed allowing further customization in creating a dialogue sequence.
