The first assignment I give to my biomedical writing class is to write an abstract (http://hdl.handle.net/1969.1/175371). Students turn in a rough draft to Turnitin. They then review three of their peers' abstracts. Finally, they use their peers' feedback, as well as feedback from their teaching assistant, to revise their abstracts before submitting the final draft, which I grade. This document contains the peer review questions I have students answer about each abstract, as well as a grading rubric for how I grade the quality of their feedback to their peers.en
