A British Soldier's Letter from Blackpool
Abstract
(Color) This postcard contains an epistolary poem, and provides spaces for the sender to fill in the date, the sendee, and his/her own name. At the top is an image of two Union Jack flags, which are also mentioned in the verse. The card displays a green, British, halfpenny stamp that is tilted to the right. The postmark is from Blackpool, and the only legible date is December 30, but the year filled in on the front indicates it was sent in 1916. The card is from brother (Tom) to sister to wish her a happy new year.
