In this thesis, we will model the ambient non-Gaussian noise as the α-stable distribution because this model has many attractive properties. By using this noise model, the robust multiuser detectors achieve significant performance gain, and the two-direction slowest-decent-search technique is still effective. The subspace-based technique for blind adaptive robust multiuser detectors, however, doesn't work very well when the ambient non Gaussian noise is α-stable distribution. In the last chapter, we will develop a density estimator for the α-stable non-Gaussian noise. Simulations show this density estimator works very well and efficiently.en
