dc.description.abstract | Available methods to predict the liquefaction susceptibility of cohesionless soils are based either in empirical charts (in-situ test) or laboratory tests. In-situ tests are a valuable source of information; especially in cohesionless soils, due to the expensive and complicate procedures to obtain an undisturbed sample. During the last years, different work has been done in the development of relationships between in-situ tests and probability of liquefaction. This work deals with the development of empirical design charts based on the database published in the references for two of the most common in-situ tests, the standard penetration test (SPT) and the cone penetration test (CPT). The statistical methods used in order to develop the charts were the Discriminant Analysis and the Logistic Regression. | en |
