In this thesis, the design of a universal controller is introduced. The controller has a 16-bit processor, four A/D channels and two D/A channels. It can run a control program up to 64K byte long. The real-time kernel, MCX-16, is selected as the operating system of the controller. The controller also includes a serial port, through which it can be connected to a host PC. A controller interface window application is developed for the designed controller. Both the controller and its interface application are tested using a Balance Control Bench System as the target controlled system.en
