dc.description.abstract | Larvae of the diamondback moth Plutella xylostella (L) were bioassayed with a leaf-dip technique for susceptibility to formulated permethrin and methamidophos at four temperatures (10, 20, 25, and 350C) . Permethrin susceptibility displayed a negative temperature coefficient i.e., it was more toxic at lower temperatures while methamidophos susceptibility displayed a positive temperature coefficient i.e., it was more toxic at higher temperatures. Temperature toxicity data and growing season temperatures were used to develop a model for optimizing applications of these insecticides in south Texas. | en |
