dc.description.abstract | The following thesis is a collection of two original short stories which attempt to portray authentic human reactions to difficult and/or life-threatening situations. While the stories differ in style and setting, they possess a thematic link through their male/female relationships-that of communication. The stories are structured on the abilities and inabilities of the characters to communicate their situations and corresponding emotions. It is the intention of the author to confront the reader with these emotions, and, in doing so, place the reader in the subjective position of examining the effectiveness and credibility of communication. | en |
