Abstract
The driving task and the driving environment have become increasingly more complex with each passing year. Methods to deal with the drinking driver problem have grown proportionately. Since how to cope with the drinking driver is a major concern of traffic safety specialists, this study is concerned with one approach to influencing the person directly involved with the consumption of alcohol and the driving task. The four objectives for this investigation were as follows: 1. To determine whether students are indeed motivated not to repeat such similar behavior; i.e., O.W.I. apprehension and conviction. 2. To determine whether students improve their driving records in terms of alcohol related driving crashes. 3. To compare the driving performance of the students who attended O.W.I. group dynamics schools with the performance of those individuals who did not attend the school and who had their licenses revoked. 4. To compile and analyst demographic data to determine the personal characteristics of the individuals that benefited most from school attendance.
