Abstract
This technical report discusses findings from a class project interviewing residents of San Jose, CA, on housing needs. Besides finding considerable concern and actual deprivation (e.g., more occupants than bedrooms) among lower- income residents, the interviewers also found perceived deprivation relative to what the residents considered they ought to have.
