The inheritance of two resistant genotypes, Criollo de Morelos 334 and Fidel, to P. capsici seems to be controlled by two recessive genes, with epistatic and additive effects respectively. Both resistant genotypes could share one resistant gene in common, but the levels of resistance conferred by each are different. The genotypic background of the susceptible parent also plays an important role for the expression of the resistance.en
