dc.description.abstract | An illustrated dichotomous key to the grass genera of Texas is presented in hypertext markup language (HTML) format. The key combines scanned images of inflorescences, digitized images of dissected spikelets, text descriptions and descriptive drawings of grass morphology. This digital method of presentation allows for an interface not possible by linear text. The illustrations and photographs are linked to descriptive terms allowing users at several levels of taxonomic understanding to use the key more efficiently. The key is served from the Center of Digital Libraries (CSDL) at Texas A&M University and is available to the world. | en |
