dc.description.abstract | Recently, a new method for IIR weighted least squares filter design has been proposed. In this method, the problem of approximating a desired frequency response using a rational function is solved using an iterative approach. After studying and implementing the proposed design method, it was realized that some basic changes could improve the performance of the algorithm. Besides, it was found out that this algorithm converges very slowly when the filter order increases or, even worse, it does not work at all. In this thesis, those modifications will be developed in order to get an efficient implementation of the basic algorithm. Furthermore, a simple idea that solves all the problems that arise when the filter order increases will be introduced. This modification is also expected to make the algorithm converge very fast. | en |
