dc.description.abstract | This thesis describes the identification and vibration ics. control of a cantilevered beam with piezoelectric material as actuators and sensors. The Euler-Bernoulli beam equation is used and gravity contribution to the stiffness matrix is included. This model and the piezoelectric effect on the beam are validated by the exact solution and experiment results. The derivation of a multiple-input multiple-output least mean square adaptive control algorithm is developed. This method is simulated as a control algorithm for vibration cancellation and implemented effectively in the vibration control of a cantilevered beam subjected to base excitation with 3 pairs of piezoelectric actuators. | en |
