Abstract
In this thesis, different multi-user detectors for a phics. synchronous coherent direr sequence code division multiple access communication system are simulated and compared. Although this subject has already been extensively treated in many publications, it has always been done in the rather simplistic assumption of the presence of additive white Gaussian noise only. Here the system will be assumed to operate in a multipath fading environment, which significantly degrades performance and make: signal detection more complicated. In order to recover the signal phase as well a estimate the path attenuation, pilot symbol assisted modulation technique is used Also, convocational coding and RAKE receiver detection are used to enhance performable. The different systems are compared in terms of performance as well a ease of implementation and their behaviors are studied when some parameters of the system such as number of simultaneous users, mobile speed and pilot symbol spacing are altered.
