dc.description.abstract | The present study examined the effect adult social support outside of the family has on subjects' outcome scores in the areas of interpersonal problems, alcohol use and psychological functioning. Results indicate that children of alcoholics who had an adult mentor outside the home during adolescence (n = 52) are functioning very similarly to those children of alcoholics who did not report an adult mentor outside the home during adolescence (n = 44). | en |
