dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the research described in this thesis is to define the primary damages occurring to corrugated cases in the normal distribution system of Frito-Lay, Incorporated and compare the relative performance (to be defined in terms of trip life) of a control corrugated case and four prototype corrugated case designs. Test cases which were deemed unfit for continued circulation in the distribution system were examined on an individual basis for primary damages, trip life, date of manufacture and other pertinent data. This data was entered into a statistical software package for cataloguing and statistical manipulation. The statistical results were used to reach conclusions on the best overall design of a corrugated case for use in the Frito-Lay distribution system.en
