dc.description.abstract(TQM) has received considerable attention in the construction industry. A major tenet of TQM is process improvement. In this study, the work process (or process) concept is used as a means to investigate the effect of TQM on construction-related activities. The study addresses relationships between selected TQM concepts (TQM tools, training, process focus, and teamwork) and work process management, defined in terms of planning, control, and improvement. The investigation was performed in two different contexts: projects and organizations. A statistical analysis was performed to investigate whether or not work process management and TQM concepts are correlated. Then, correlations between concepts as well as the concepts themselves were compared for organizationand project-level work processes. Data to support the analysis were collected through a mailed questionnaire sent to construction executives and managers who were asked to provide information on organizational and project work processes, respectively.en
