dc.description.abstract | The general problem was to survey the availability and extent of use of public school facilities for community reaction within school districts of the State of Texas for the academic year 1974-1975. The sample consisted of 300 randomly selected school districts in the State of Texas with a grade 1-12 curriculum. A response was received from a total of 220 school districts resulting in a 73.3% return. Permission was received from Dr. Leonard Lucenko, Montclair State College, to modify a survey instrument he had developed to ascertain the availability and extent of use of public school facilities for community recreation in New Jersey. The AMDAHL, Model 470 Computer was utilized for analysis of the data. Veldman's (1967) DISTAT (Distribution Statistics and Standard Scoring) and DSCRIM (Multiple Discriminant Analysis) routines as stored in the Texas A&M Data Processing Center were utilized. The data received from the survey resulted in a number of conclusions. The following conclusions were formulated after analyzing the findings based on the response of 220 school district administrators.. | en |
