The purposes of this study were twofold: (1) to investigate the effects of changes of information in a more realistic situation--an inventory control system, and (2) to try to improve decisions by giving the decision-maker the necessary information for making these decisions. The study was a laboratory experiment using a computer simulation of a one product hypothetical company. The experimental design was a single factor repeated measure design. The independent variables were amount or level of feedback and time. The amount of feedback increased from group one to group two. The information added included an increase of information from quarterly to monthly data. A budget and forecast information were also added. There were five hypotheses tested in the study. These hypotheses tested the effect of time and amount of informational feedback. The last three hypotheses tested the effect of a budget, monthly versus quarterly information and a forecast. The experiment was analyzed using ANOVA and F-tests. The only hypothesis found to be significant was the effect of time and the interaction of time and level of informational feedback.en
