Abstract
The objective of this research was to evaluate selected secondary cooperative education programs through the objective measurement of certain behavioral and personality dimensions. A random sample of 105 participants in cooperative education programs was matched on five control variables with a second group of participants and two groups of nonparticipants. One group of participants and one group of nonparticipants were administered pretests of the California Psychological Inventory (CPI) and the Vocational Development Inventory (VDI) at the beginning of school year 1971-1972. Near the end of the school year all four groups were administered posttests of these instruments. The results indicated that participation in a cooperative education program for one year failed to enhance the development of any of the nineteen internal dimensions under consideration.
