Abstract
The primary purpose of this research was to examine the importance of the instructor and instructor rank in the determination of a student's success in freshman college algebra and trigonometry courses, as measured by his obtained grade. A secondary consideration of this study was the identification of the high school variable correlated with success in the freshman college mathematics course.
