Abstract
Purpose: This study develops, through institutional input from a survey design, guidelines that may be used by two-year and four-year institution administrators to aid students when transferring from two-year institution technology programs to four-year institutions. Procedure: A survey instrument containing problems students encounter when transferring from two-year technology programs to four-year institutions was developed to obtain input from tow-year and four-year institution admissions officers. The instrument contained two proposed solutions to each problem. Initial items for the articulation guidelines were submitted to a jury of professionals closely associated with articulation problems in two-year and four-year institutions for validation of the items. All two-year and four-year public institutions admissions officers in Alabama were solicited for study participation. Data were tabulated from usable survey instruments returned by five (5) four-year institutions and twenty-seven (27) two-year institutions.
