dc.description.abstract | Background and Purpose of the Study [line break] The Department of Engineering Technology, Texas A&M University, became aware of a need for documented knowledge of what specific work tasks were being performed by the graduates of the department. This information was needed for two purposes: 1. in counseling and describing to students and potential students in the work Industrial Technologists perform on their jobs; 2. in evaluating and improving the Industrial Technology curriculum. The problem was not unique to Texas A&M. A survey of literature indicated that this was a problem at many schools.
