Seven strains of cotton were used to study the inheritance and interrelations among seed and seedling characters involved in escape from seedling disease. Averages and analyses of variance of parental and generations data were used to determine validity for drawing conclusion concerning inheritance of the characters studied. Results of diallel analyses were used to determine adequacy of inheritance patterns. Regression analyses were made among sets of eleven measurements to determine interrelations. The averages and analysis of variances for the parental lines alone and the combined analysis for the parental and F₁ generations indicated differences among all genotypes. ...en
