The research was designed to determine the relative effectiveness of 16 mm sound animated films compared to the conventional lecture-demonstration method of teaching selected units in engineering graphics. The two methods of instruction were applied to 400 beginning engineering students enrolled in Engineering Graphics 105 at Texas A&M University during the fall semester of 1968-69. The four units of instruction selected for the study were multiview orthographic projection, primary auxiliary projection, sections and conventions, and dimensioning procedures. ...en
