Abstract
The major purpose of this research was to determine the structure of farms in the study area and to estimate the adjustment "gap" which refers to the number of farms currently existing compared with the number of farms that would be present if all farms made necessary adjustments to meet certain income goals. Specific objectives were (1) to determine farm structure and project trends in structure of farms in the study area, (2) to estimate the adjustment "gap" currently existing and (3) to determine the extent to which changes in hired labor prices, changes in land charges, tenure arrangements, and different levels of management affect the adjustment "gap". Production enterprises considered in the study included cotton, wheat, grain sorghum, forage crops for farm use only, sudan for grazing, and several land-based livestock enterprises. Land used for specialty enterprises was excluded from this analysis. ...
