dc.description.abstract | This research is addressed to the development of a technique for estimating air passenger travel demands. Techniques previously used for estimating air passenger travel demands are applicable for planning at the national level or at the local level, but do not provide sufficient information for decisions concerning air transportation facilities and services on a statewide basis. Pertinent factors that have not been satisfactorily integrated into these techniques include: 1. The influence of the level of air service on the volume of air travel generated, particularly for smaller communities with no air service or with only limited air service; 2. The impact of changes in service to one community on the demand for and economic viability of service to nearby communities; 3. The complementarity between air transportation and other modes. ... | en |
