dc.description.abstract | An accurate equation of state has been developed for the prediction of volumes of pure hydrocarbons and several non-hydrocarbons and their complex mixtures. The equation is of the same form as the Redlick-Kwong equation of state, but the constants a and b, are defined as functions of temperature. It has four empirical constants for each hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon. And for pure gaseous materials has an average deviation of .16 percent, and for pure liquid material shows an average absolute deviation of .18 percent. The new equation for mixtures predicts the volumetric behavior of gas and condensate fluids with an average absolute deviation of 1.48 percent based on 4465 data points with temperatures up to 322??F and pressures up to 15,515 psia. It is applicable to fluids containing substantial quantities of components heavier than hexane. Constants for heptanes-plus were obtained by regression analysis on its molecular weight, specific gravity and temperature. | en |
