The principles of rational pavement analysis were used in this study together with in-situ non-destructive testing to evaluate the structural performance of recycled pavement materials under load. An extensive literature review identified several parameters by which the recycled materials could be compared to the standard or conventional pavement materials. The selection of these evaluation parameters was based primarily upon the rationality of their role in pavement design and analysis and the information imparted to the engineer by these evaluation parameters. The Dynaflect was selected for the in-situ non-destructive evaluation of the recycled pavement in question. The Dynaflect was selected because of its availability, accuracy and because a large number of tests can be made enabling a statistically significant interpretation of the data. A theoretical analysis of the most widely used Dynaflect deflection parameters revealed the interdependency of the parameters on all pavement layers within the system. Thus it is virtually impossible to structurally characterize a single layer within the pavement system based on any deflection parameter. ...en
