Infectious bacteria are all around us at all times. They are on every surface and are microscopic. These microorganisms are the cause of disease among elementary school children. This research analyzes the impact that infectious bacteria have on children in elementary schools. The methods used to obtain the data from desks in elementary schools are microbiology techniques. The bacteria are then cultured and five of the most common infectious bacteria are identified. The purpose of this research is to increase awareness of the amount of microorganisms present on these surfaces. Cleaning solutions should reduce this number and therefore reduce the number of children getting ill.en
