dc.description.abstractA questionnaire was administered over the telephone to a sample of professional and commercial weight loss establishments. The general population the sample was taken from, was the 1983 Greater Houston Yellow Pages. The purpose of the study was to establish the differences between professional and commercial weight loss establishments. The results were surprising and unexpected. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. However, qualitative differences did occur, especially in the area of availability and indicate the need for further research in this area.en
