Abstract
The need for more efficient use of the world's energy resources has become one of the major concerns of technology today. Over the past 50 years, during which our population has doubled, our requirements for energy has quadrupled. Recent figures for the distribution of energy indicate that the industrial sector consumes approximately 44 percent of the total with about two-thirds of that for combustion. The methodology necessary for a successful energy audit is developed. Energyconservation opportunities within the industrial sector are discussed and analyzed. Actual case studies showing results of a successful audit are used to indicate the potential savings available.
