Abstract
A new control system that enables heat to be reclaimed from gas-fired-boilers' flue gases down to temperatures approaching their acid dew point, without fear of corrosion, is described. Valuable energy savings achieved each summer at the University of Ottawa by converting its heating system from steam to hot water, using a vapour compressor to generate steam, as well as a heat pump application and an instance of co-generation of hot water and steam by an internal combustion engine are also described.
