Abstract
Infra-red radiations find wide application in industrial processes as heating, drying, stoving and forming. The results are often far better than those from the other techniques: convection oven, gas IR etc . They come from the electric IR specific advantages: energy direct transmission, emitter and product spectral coupling, possible selectivity.
That is the case in the Textile Industry, where experiments showed that infra-red process heating could be efficient for color fixation on fabrics. Shorter production cycles and energy saving are the main results.
