Abstract
The Department of Energy (DOE) in their Industrial Programs Office in Conservation and Solar Applications is involved in development and commercialization of a number of energy conserving techniques. These include high and low temperature processing improvements, waste material recovery, cogeneration and heat recovery equipment. The criteria for this work is that it must be based on present technology in new applications or for modest advances in present techniques; in new or innovative applications. Equipment in the mature developed state must have a return on an investment (ROI) that exceeds their particular industry threshold value for capital investment. It must provide significant net national energy savings based on projected markets and penetration particularly on scarce fuels.
