Abstract
A computer-aided system for synthesis, simulation and optimization of heat exchanger networks will be described. It features Pinch Technology, its extensions and Union Carbide's in-house research and development. The capabilities of the system for rating and design of heat exchanger equipment will also be discussed. The system has interfaces for novice as well as expert users. It uses a micro-computer based environment to provide an integrated system with an interactive graphics process engineering interface.
