Abstract
Conventional process design philosophy usually
results in utility systems being designed after
process design defines the Process/Utility
interface. Clearly, changing the process design
can result in different utility demands and
possibly in different utility system designs.
This paper presents a procedure, using Pinch
Technology, for the simultaneous design of process
and utility as an optimally integrated system.
Also, the implications for furnace integration are
discussed.
