Abstract
This paper briefly describes the
current R&D activity in industrial
combustion systems. The areas
covered are novel burner systems,
oxygen enriched systems, combustion
controls and sensors and unique
industrial process modifications.
Some of the future research needs in
industrial combustion systems have
been identified. These include
improved techniques of heat transfer
to the load, improved sensors,
plasmas to process materials and
flash or pneumatic reactors for the
metals, non-metals and petrochemical
industries.
