Abstract
INDUST is a multicomponent data base of information
for the thirteen most energy-intense industrial
groups within the manufacturing sector.
Within each industry group, INDUST contains data on
plants, processes, equipment, and technology. The
data in INDUST is continually being expanded and
updated.
INDUST can be used for many types of analyses.
This paper discusses INDUST's general structure
and capabilities and provides one specific
example of how INDUST data can be used at the utility
service area level of geography to inventory
and characterize the energy-intense equipment used
in industrial activities.
