Abstract
Energy awareness concepts were incorporated as part of a plant energy survey and played a major part in the followup program. Plant manager support was
received and multi-disciplinary task group was established to review and recommend energy saving
potentials. Beyond instilling traditional benefits
of an awareness program, capital expenditure energy
savings projects were initiated and completed. They covered water and compressed air optimization, steam trap survey and computerized PM, and metering/monitoring system for accountability to reduce energy useage. First year energy savings were 8% and future goal set at 20%.
