dc.description.abstract | The Houston Regional Monitoring Corporation (HRM) is an association of more than 40 industrial companies located in or near the Houston Ship Channel area. Since 1981, HRM has operated one of the largest EPA approved monitoring networks in the United States. Initially, monitoring was performed for meteorological parameters and the six criteria pollutants. In 1987 HRM expanded its monitoring program to include a long-term baseline measurement program for volatile organic indicator compounds. This paper describes operation of the HRM program and discusses how HRM activities relate to air quality issues affecting Houston Lighting & Power Company. | en |
