dc.description.abstract | The City of Austin, Texas is forming partnerships with local companies to lower energy consumption and improve environmental performance within the industrial sector. As a local government participant in the federal Climate Wise program, Austin is encouraging companies to join the program and to implement energy-efficiency measures and engage in other activities that will result in a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions from the community. Teaming up with Motorola, the city has recruited 16 companies that are working together to develop comprehensive plans to realize the potential energy and dollar savings that can be achieved through changes in technology and process design. | en |
