dc.description.abstract | Improvements to the powerhouse control system can be a cost effective way to improve system efficiency and reliability. A critical step in making these improvements is to conduct a control system audit of the existing process units and their related controls. This allows the development of a Control Objectives Analysis (COA) and a design package using the correct controls and instrumentation to meet the rapidly changing demands that are placed upon powerhouses. This paper will focus on conducting these control systems audits and the specialized methods that are required to integrate the steam system, turbine generators, as well as the electric and steam distribution system controls into a coordinated powerhouse control system. | en |
