Abstract
The Chemicals Group at Air Products is seeking ways to reduce operating costs by taking advantage of rigorous process models for on-line plant control systems. We are executing development projects to find ways in which real-time optimization can significantly benefit our businesses. The goal of our program is to use focused development projects to find an approach to real-time optimization that we can apply throughout the Chemicals Group's plants. This presentation will describe the path we have taken, where we are going, what we have learned, and what we need to know to implement real-time optimization applications in our chemical plants.
